Hoka One One Tecton X 3

The Hoka Tecton X 3 are high-performance trail running shoes with a carbon fiber plate, designed to offer propulsion on technical terrain without sacrificing cushioning or lightness.

Thanks to their profile and components, they can also be used on hardpack trails, gravel, or mixed terrain, not just on pure rock.

The upper is constructed from Matryx® textile, which combines durability and breathability. It features a ghillie-style lacing system and an extended knit collar that acts almost like a gaiter to prevent stones and debris from entering through the top. It also incorporates what Hoka calls a "dynamic vamp," which allows the forefoot to expand naturally as the foot settles, improving comfort and stability.

The midsole uses two layers of PEBA foam, one of the lightest and most resilient compounds Hoka uses. Between these layers is a parallel carbon fiber plate with lateral winglets that add lateral stability without compromising flexibility. Additionally, the design includes a MetaRocker, a curved geometry that aids in the transition of the stride and enhances forward rebound.

The sole is made of Vibram® Megagrip Litebase rubber, with redesigned traction lugs. According to Hoka and distributors, these lugs have a more optimized shape and are strategically positioned to offer improved grip on various terrains, whether wet or dry. The lugs are approximately 4 mm deep, providing traction without adding much weight.
