Adidas also drove evolution in professional swimming with a design specially conceived for Ian Thorpe that incorporates cutting-edge technology created to reduce water resistance. During the 2010s, sustainability became a priority. Adidas and Parley, an association committed to ocean conservation, teamed up to create clothing and footwear made from recycled ocean plastic. This collaboration became a movement aimed at ending waste generated by the fashion industry by reusing plastics. With greater awareness of the importance of sustainability came greater innovation in technologies. The last decade saw the development of Boost, the energy-return midsole that is currently a favorite among runners.
