The New Balance FuelCell Rebel v5 is a lightweight and responsive shoe designed for fast training runs, easy runs, and short- to medium-distance races. 👟 Ideal runners and distances

Runner type : Neutral, light to medium weight (up to 75-80 kg).
Foot strike : Neutral.
Recommended distances : 5K, 10K, up to a half marathon. Can be used in marathons by experienced runners who prefer a lightweight shoe without a plate.
Ideal use : Tempo workouts, fartleks, interval training, and competitions.

🧵 Upper (Top cut)

Material : Engineered mesh, more structured than in v4, with greater lateral support.
Breathability : High, with strategically perforated areas.
Fit : Sock-like fit, with good midfoot support and adequate space in the forefoot.
Tongue : Semi-gusseted (partially attached), thin and padded just enough to maintain lightness and prevent movement.
Reinforcements : Subtle side reinforcements to improve stability without adding weight.

🧬 Midsole

Foam : Dual-density FuelCell.
- Combination of a firmer layer (stability) and a softer/reactive layer (impulse).
Feel : Very responsive, soft but with quick energy return, without being unstable.
Drop : 6 mm (approx.).
Carbon fiber sheet : Does not include carbon fiber sheet; relies solely on the geometry of the foam and the front rocker.
Stability : Improved compared to the v4 thanks to a wider base in the heel and midfoot.

🦶 Sole

Composition : NDurance rubber in key wear areas (heel and forefoot).
Traction : Good in dry and wet conditions, although it is not designed for trail or very loose terrain.
Flexibility : High, especially in the forefoot, which favors quick transitions.
Durability : Improved, although it is still geared towards quick workouts rather than high daily volume.
