The On Running Cloudboom Max are high-profile super-shoes designed for everyday runners seeking a combination of generous cushioning and responsiveness, ideal for long-distance events like marathons. They feature a maximalist midsole with over 40mm of Helion HF foam and a Speedboard plate made of fiberglass and nylon that provides an efficient push-off without being as stiff as a traditional carbon plate.

They are designed for long-distance runners, especially marathons and half marathons, even those with slower paces (targeting "four hours or more"), and are suitable for medium and even heavyweight athletes thanks to their comfortable and protective structure.

The upper is made of lightweight, breathable technical mesh that comfortably adapts to the foot. It features padding in the heel and opening for added comfort during high-volume workouts, and also incorporates recycled materials.

The midsole combines a double layer of highly responsive Helion HF foam with a fiberglass-reinforced Speedboard plate that enhances energy return and stride efficiency. Its rocker geometry provides smooth transitions and promotes fluid movement.
