The ASICS Superblast 3 is a plateless, maximalist "super trainer" shoe, focused on offering great cushioning, rebound, and lightness for accumulating miles at medium and long paces, with a very protected and dynamic stride.

It is especially designed for long runs, easy jogs, and controlled paces, even for marathon training or non-aggressive competition; it performs best for neutral runners of medium to high weight who seek comfort and efficiency rather than explosive response, and primarily excels on asphalt and compact surfaces, although it can handle easy trails thanks to its good traction.

The upper uses a double-layer engineered mesh, lighter and more breathable than previous versions, with a more comfortable and less structured fit, which favors ventilation and comfort on long runs, though it slightly reduces rigid support; the lacing system and padding aim for a secure fit without excessive pressure.

The midsole is the key element, with a dual-compound construction: an upper layer of FF LEAP (lighter, softer, and more reactive) and a base of FF BLAST PLUS that provides stability and support, generating a very cushioned, elastic stride with high energy return; the increased stack makes it softer and more protective, with a pronounced rocker geometry that facilitates heel-to-toe transition.

The outsole combines segmented rubber with a "trampoline pod" design in the forefoot that improves propulsion at takeoff, also offering notable grip on asphalt and good overall durability, maintaining a balance between traction and contained weight.
