Brooks Sports was founded in 1914 by Morris Goldenberg and was a family business that began manufacturing beach shoes in 1917 before moving into sports by producing baseball shoes in 1920 and football shoes in the 1930s. In 1938 the world champion Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team wore Brooks shoes. In 1975 Brooks began working hand in hand with elite runners, one of them was Marty Liquori , a former Olympian, and thanks to the help of these professionals, they managed to advance greatly in their research to create the perfect footwear, one of the first designs included EVA foam .
