The company was founded in 1928 by footwear legend Narciso Delladio in Tesero, Trento. Initially, he made shoes for forestry workers and clogs in his factory. During World War II, he produced hiking boots for the Italian army. After the war, the footwear business expanded and more employees were hired. In the 1950s, his son Francesco joined the business. On the outskirts of Tesero, the company built new factories, which later produced its first ski boot production. In the 1970s, the introduction of plastic into ski boot construction led them to abandon that sector and focus on hiking boots. In the 1980s, when the third generation of the family took over, the company achieved great success and the footwear for which the Italian brand is known worldwide, "Climbing Shoes." Europe and the United States were truly amazed, as they quickly became one of the best-selling climbing equipment and clothing brands in the world. Later, in the 1990s, the company boosted its international expansion, entering the French market and promoting the construction of new facilities to optimize its production. Since 2000, La Sportiva has continued working on new products and adapting new production models, always prioritizing the quality, sustainability, and innovation of all its products. In 2010, the fourth generation of Delladio entered the fray and began collaborating with the electronics giant Samsung with a project to manufacture technical clothing. By 2013, it had become a 360º outdoor brand, designing all types of products for this market. La Sportiva has a single goal in mind: achieving complete customer satisfaction on their mountain outings while respecting the environment.
