MAGIC SPEED by Asics
This time it's the turn of another Asics model, a mixed-race shoe designed to increase our speed by boosting our stride and reducing effort. We're talking about the Magic Speed .
The aesthetics of these shoes are very similar to the model we talked about yesterday, the Metaracer , and the Magic Speed also incorporates the coveted carbon plate from the toe to the midfoot.
This carbon plate has been studied at the Asics Institute of Sports Sciences , concluding that it is a model that improves stability , propulsion and makes transitions faster and more efficient .
The most notable difference between the Magic Speed and the Metaracer is the use of FlyteFoam Blast foam (previously used in the Novablast and Dynablast). This foam makes the cushioning lighter and the rebound more responsive .
In the instep area, a technical mesh has been added that promotes breathability , ideal for long-distance races.
Like the Metaracer , Asics has introduced Guidesole technology for improved energy conservation.
The outsole features the AHAR compound, which significantly increases the shoe's durability. Additionally, the forefoot features several flex grooves that aid in a smooth, fast ride.
It is important to note that, despite being asphalt shoes, we can use them without problems in places with compacted soil .
As these are mixed-use shoes, they require a good fit to maintain fast paces. To achieve this, Asics has used a higher-density fabric in the midfoot area that secures the foot to the shoe, something that doesn't affect the feeling of comfort at all.
The Magic Speed is a very versatile mixed-race shoe. It can be used for training at both moderate and more demanding paces, and thanks to its responsiveness and dynamics, it's also ideal for 10K or half-marathon competitions . Even fast runners can use it for marathons. Recommended for runners with a slim build.
