METARACER by Asics
This time, we're going to review a carbon-plated running shoe that combines the latest technologies and materials to help runners reach their peak performance. We're referring to the MetaRacer from the Japanese brand Asics .
The MetaRacer combines Guidesole technology with a carbon plate and FlyteFoam to offer softness, lightness, and stability. Guidesole technology curves the shoe to reduce ankle movement, saving energy and reducing the effort required over long distances.
The MetaRacer 's midsole has a moderate height compared to other models with a carbon fiber plate. This places it above a classic flying shoe and below a hybrid shoe.
It features a curved chassis that places impact on the midfoot , making it ideal for runners who land on this area of the foot.
The model we discussed earlier was recommended for heel strikers. This means that some runners who wear these types of heel-striking models tend to strike to get the most out of them. With the MetaRacer , you won't have this problem; whether you strike lightly with your heel or with your midfoot, you can wear them without any problem, although they are more recommended for midfoot runners.
The shape of the carbon fiber plate is somewhat peculiar. If we look at the sole, we'll see a V-shaped plate of a different color (in this case, black). This is the shape of the carbon fiber plate. It then becomes flat, and at the other end, it forms that V shape again.
This makes the foot more comfortable over long distances, as this shape means that weaker and stronger toes do not have to endure the same rigidity of the plate.
According to the brand itself, the MetaRacer reduces strain on the calf muscle by up to 20% thanks to its improved cushioning.
They are made with a very light and breathable engineered mesh that keeps your feet cool even on hot and humid days.
The outsole includes the Asics Grip and Wet Grip Rubber Sponge compounds, a combination that improves grip and traction , even when running on wet ground.
The Asics MetaRacer is designed for long, demanding distances . It's recommended for neutral runners of average build and good running technique, as it can be a difficult shoe for slower runners, so it's not for everyone. Ideal for long-distance running.
