New Balance IRON V6
On this occasion, we will talk about the star trail shoes of the New Balance brand: the Hierro V6 .
The predecessors of these shoes, the Hierro V5 , were a success with an attractive design, excellent cushioning and high overall performance, so the Hierro V6 follows the same path.
The design of these shoes is almost maximalist , super comfortable, and well-cushioned. They have slightly raised profiles of 32mm at the heel and 24mm at the forefoot, giving them an 8mm drop .
The base of the shoe is wide to ensure stability.
The sole is still Vibram Megagrip , excellent in grip, durability, and traction. The rubber used has a hardness of 81° and the lug pattern is large and numerous, ensuring minimal wear and tear, making it recommended for use on terrain with less technical difficulty. The size and arrangement of the lugs give the sensation of wearing a road shoe. Furthermore, its hexagonal shape and the presence of a recess at the bottom of the hexagon give the shoe greater grip and traction on rocky trails, in forests, and more.
We cannot forget to mention the use of Fresh Foam X in the midsole, one of the best materials on the market, which gives it a combination of cushioning, softness, comfort and reactivity.
In terms of design, the Hierro V6 is less risky than its predecessors, although it's still quite innovative in the world of trail running. The differences with the V5 version are: traditional-style lacing and a tongue separated from the rest of the upper.
They are very comfortable shoes, with very good protection and that you can use on almost any trail.
It's also worth noting that New Balance has used recycled materials in the manufacture of the upper, something that I find quite remarkable in these times.
